Frequently Asked Questions

How far back can I browse?

You can browse NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day archive all the way back to June 16, 1995 — the date NASA published the very first APOD image.

Does the app require an internet connection?

Yes. Cosmos Pic fetches images directly from NASA's public API, so an active internet connection is required to load photos and descriptions.

Why is there no image for a date I selected?

All images come from NASA's APOD API. Occasionally NASA may not have published an image for a specific date — this is rare but possible. If you're seeing a loading error, check your internet connection and try again.

How do I save an image?

Tap the share or save button on the image view. The App will prompt for permission to access your photo library on first use — make sure to allow it to save images successfully.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required. Cosmos Pic is completely open — just open and explore.
