Applies to: Drevo: Family Tree & Album
Drevo ("the App") is developed and maintained by Alexandr Nadtoka ("I", "me", "my"). The App keeps your family tree, photo albums, recorded stories and family journeys. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App uses and how it is handled.
In short: the App has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and I have no server that receives your data. I can't see your family archive.
Everything you add is stored in the App on your device:
This archive can include information about your relatives, so please consider their wishes when you record or share it, especially for living people.
If you are signed in to iCloud, the App syncs your archive through your own private iCloud database, so it appears on your other devices. This data sits in your iCloud account and I have no access to it. Its handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device's Settings.
Transcribing recordings, reading handwriting on scanned photos, translating captions and suggesting facts from a story all run on your device, using Apple's system features. Your device may download language or speech resources from Apple to do this. Your content isn't sent to me.
The App uses Apple Maps to show maps and to look up places. Apple receives what's needed for this: the text you type into a place search and, if a photo you add has a GPS position, those coordinates, which are used to suggest the name of the town. Its handling is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy. The App doesn't use your current location.
When you choose to continue a surname search in a public archive (WikiTree, FamilySearch or Antenati), the surname you typed is passed to that website, which opens outside the App and has its own privacy policy. Your family tree is not uploaded.
You can export your tree as a .drevo file and send it yourself, using Messages, Mail, AirDrop
or any other way you choose. The file contains the people, stories, photos and recordings in your archive, and
anyone who has it can see them, so send it only to people you trust. A file you import from someone else is added to your own archive.
The App does not collect or send me:
The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may give me aggregated, anonymous statistics and crash reports through App Store Connect. These don't include your archive.
If you email me for support, I receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and I use them only to reply to you.
The App has no ads and no in-app purchases.
You can delete people, photos and stories in the App, and with iCloud sync on, those changes reach your other devices. Deleting the App removes its copy from that device, but your archive stays in iCloud until you remove it. You can manage this data in your device's iCloud storage settings. Because I hold none of your data, I can't delete or recover it for you.
The App collects no personal data from anyone, including children under 13.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example if the App adds new features. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
